What We Do
Carnegie Weight Management’s unique approach to helping children manage their weight effectively is a result of over 15 years of experience in delivering treatment and prevention programmes, which has been strongly supported by clinical research. At the heart of the programmes is a belief in creating an environment that is supportive and engaging, where children receive individual attention and are encouraged to have fun, make friends, learn new skills and be successful.

Carnegie International Camp

Carnegie International Camp is an 8-week summer holiday camp for kids aged 11-17 with weight loss being a bonus. Supported by scientifically proven results, the camp’s unique environment is a place where all children feel they are in the ‘same boat’, working towards similar goals, experiencing new activities, making new friends, increasing confidence and gaining the necessary skills to achieve successful weight loss and weight management for a healthier future.
Carnegie Clubs

Carnegie Clubs is a 12-week community healthy lifestyles programme delivered by trained weight management specialists throughout the UK. The Clubs aim is to involve the whole family in a variety of physical activity and education sessions to enable them to lead a healthier lifestyle.
Training
Carnegie Weight Management delivers a training package for health and fitness professionals who are interested in setting up a Carnegie Clubs programme in their local community. A team of staff will gain the necessary knowledge, skills, and support in order to enable them to deliver an effective healthy lifestyles programme for children and their families.
All staff who are successful in completing the training requirements will receive a Vocational Certificate in Weight Management qualification from Leeds Metropolitan University. The training package is designed to disseminate best practices which will enable the effective delivery of the Carnegie Clubs in a variety of environments and communities throughout the UK with year round support from Carnegie Weight Management.
Research
Carnegie Weight Management is pioneering research in the area of childhood obesity. The residential camp programme provides a unique forum for developing new insights into the delivery of physical activity and diet change amongst overweight and obese young people. The camp provides unrivalled longitudinal data and supports cutting-edge contributions to more accurate and effective measurement of body composition.
Carnegie Weight Management’s research contributions are increasingly recognised by primary care teams who support innovative combinations of research and delivery whilst actively involving outside experts from many different backgrounds.
Consultancy
At Carnegie Weight Management we work with a variety of public and private sector organisations to provide strategic planning advice and research for obesity care pathway development.
